Embodying the essence of good is different from doing good things so that one can feel good about oneself and be perceived as a good person by society, often someone who embodies good is less concerned about holding onto an idealisation of being good or requiring others to see them as good and is more concerned with the good for the sake of it internally within themselves. But what is this good and what makes it such a powerful driving force against the easy and self serving alternative of evil

Every human being contains animalistic drives and desires at an unconscious level. Its the conscious level of awareness that determines how this balanced psychological state can be achieved where these drives can be fulfilled in a healthy life preserving way or if the consciousness is utilised to accomplish these unconscious drives disregarding and objectifying all other life surrounding the individual, basically the fight between good and evil. Often times evil is a a banal mode of being and not as calculated as one might think as according to Hannah Arendt, so it is just a way to accomplish satisfaction of ones internal drives while completely disregarding the essence of life around the individual in order to achieve psychological balance

The good is a deep reverence for the life around oneself regardless of ones own being one respects in some way or another the surrounding life, they do not have to empathise well with the life nor do they go far out of their way to help or aid the life around them, but the good is simply a respect and level of sensitivity for the life outside of oneself. This respect for the external life allows one to become a relational being and relate to the life around them in a positive way. Through evil, the consciousness accomplishes these drives and desires in a highly self serving way, disregarding the life around them, they may not intend to cause harm, but their drives and desires will be accomplished in a self serving manner which slowly hollows out their self and identity as the self is constructed in a relational way, and once one starts to objectify the life around oneself, this is a trap as this leads to the objectification of oneself, where one loses their real identity. This pathway is a downwards spiral because this dehumanises the evil person more and more as they disregard the life around them. Human beings are inherently relational creatures and so if one has been relating to others in a negative way for a long time, there is very little real relational structure created and most of their patterns and identity are through disregarding the life around them, this becomes the primary relational mode of being for the one who embodies evil. It becomes such an ingrained part of the way in which they relate to others that the behaviours and harm done become worse and worse as time goes on as this is their primary mode of identity and relationally, through harming others and when they stop harming others, its as if they have lost their relational aspect and almost human essence, this becomes the primary mechanism in which the “evil” person relates to the world through inflicting harm on others, bringing them a level of relational structure

The seeds of evil are carried by everyone, and until one realises this they cannot fully embody the good. The recognition of the seeds of evil within oneself bring out the highest level of good to counteract this internal evil force and being human is a constant battle to keep this dark force in check without completely flattening out the concept of good and evil and becoming a sheep or just following societal values and reducing the forces of good and evil away into nothing to cope with these seeds of evil. It is the potential to be evil which brings one alive and makes them feel human and real, without this ability there would be no free will, similar to a population brain chipped where if they think a bad thought, they get zapped into submission. It is the ability for people to explore the evil within themselves and within the world and slowly confront in manageable doses through the will of the good which allows them to attain a higher level of life and existence. Without the dormant and potential for evil, there would be little incentive for human life to grow and drive our species forward
